latest reviews:

"...a showcase for the marvellous rhythmic vitality of this music, here fused with jazz harmonies and riffs to make for an immensely enjoyable, foot-tapping listen...Perhaps most special of all, however, is the atmosphere that Makedonissimo conjures: alongside the ensemble’s supreme technical assurance,
there is also a real sense of communion and conviviality here.
Imaginative, intricate and wonderfully warm-spirited, this is a joy of a disc."
BBC Music Magazine on Makedonissimo released by Linn Records

"It is frequently as delicate as Mozart chamber music."
Gramophone Magazine on Makedonissimo released by Linn Records

"Contrasting between energetic dance and tender ballad,
the music here is at the same time great fun and movingly expressive."
Dominy Clements (Music Web International) on Makedonissimo released by Linn Records

a selection of concert reviews:

“The rousing music… was a success factor which ensured that, despite the strangeness and unfamiliarity of the music, the attention in the audience always remained high”
Sandra Bildmann on Makedonissimo in Bietigheimer Zeitung, 20 May 2017.

“quite enchanting”
Dietholf Zerweck on Makedonissimo in Kreiszeitung, 20 May 2017.

“…awareness of the factories of rearranged time, meteorology, bleakness, broken down to the atoms which, on the contrary, create a vibrant movement, bouncing with life and a brutally-advancing intention…”
Dušica Kojić on the Saxophone Quartet in Danas, 12 November 2013.

"Pande Shahov's In Struga is rather wonderful"
BBC Music Magazine, 6 May 2012.

“Shahov’s work is fiercely pianistic… and its ebullient virtuosity, very much in Rachmaninov territory,
was right up Trpčeski’s street”
Peter Reed on Songs and Whispers in Classical Source, 13 October 2009.
